Judge John M. Rollins, Jr.

John Marshall Rollins, Jr., was born in Greer, S.C., He is the son of the late John M. Rollins and Shirlee Rollins. He is a graduate of Greer High School and received a B.S. in Psychology from the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg. Judge Rollins received his J.D. degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, Birmingham Alabama in 1988. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1988.

Judge Rollins was a Field Artillery Officer with the S.C. Army National Guard and retired as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves having served as a Brigade Staff Judge Advocate.

Judge Rollins served as a Greenville County Contract Public Defender for a decade. He is certified to represent individuals charged with crimes punishable by the death penalty. He now serves as the municipal judge for the Town of Lyman, and the City of Landrum. He was appointed a magistrate in 2001.
