Judge James F. Ashmore
Judge
Ashmore is a native of Spartanburg County. He graduated from Landrum
High School in 1960 and received a Liberal Arts Degree from Spartanburg
Junior College. He served a four year term in the United States Air
Force with one year in Vietnam.
Judge Ashmore was first appointed a summary court judge in 1992, to serve in the Landrum Magistrate Court. In July, 2001, he was assigned to the Spartanburg County Detention Center as a part time bond judge.
Judge Ashmore is married and has two sons, a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. He is a collector of advertising memorabilia and antique toys. He is a member of the Gowensville Baptist Church and is an inactive member of the Landrum Lions Club.
